Health

We wanted access to nutritious and clean food for our family, friends, and community. Our family focus led us to start a pasture-raised, grassfed beef operation. Grassfed beef is leaner, healthier, and has improved antioxidant properties than conventional beef products.


Not all meat is the same – grassfed beef can have 2 to 4 times the number of good omegas and reduce inflammation in the body.

Health

Meat available from common sources is from animals that are often confined in smaller spaces and fed grain, supplements, and other additives. While these inputs may increase growth, they can also have a negative impact on the quality of the finished product and the welfare of the animal.

Environment

Local farms that implement regenerative agriculture can be part of carbon sequestration, plant diversity, and pollinator and bird habitats - to name a few benefits. This practice reduces the use of chemicals and is focused on improving ecosystem function.

Grassfed KC is locally owned and operated by Kyle and Laura (veterinarian, K-State University). We wanted our family to have access to food that is healthy and raised in a way that is focused on animal welfare. 


Our family farm sits between Smithville and Kearney, MO (~10 minutes north of Kansas City). We are committed to raising 100% grassfed animals and promoting other like-minded farms that apply regenerative agriculture practices .


Regenerative Agriculture

Regenerative agriculture strives to work with nature rather than against it. It is about building up the soil and environment to make it healthier.
